The journey

First post of 2007. My inconsistency has taken its toll on virtually everything.
Quick updates from me before I begin to write about my journey. Each of the bullet points should have come as a separate post ...but the lazy ass got the better of me.

- Haven't moved from East Cost since last year
- Visited India in May/June
- Planning to join a b school by Fall 2008

I simply love the "Mahiyaa" song by Annie.

So as long as the link is active..enjoy..

Revive 'The Begining'

Well Well..So I've been an inconsistent blogger, to such an extent that I forgot my userid password too ! Something not-so-strange did serve as a strong inspiration to make me blog tonight.
It's better that I make a mention of this before the inspiration fizzles out. I was reading wired.com - an attempt to keep abreast of the tech happenings and also improve my reading comprehension (no questions please !)
I came across an article titled 'Bloggers shrinking the planet'.
Before I delve further into this topic - I want to ask a question
Why did you start blogging ?
- Just coz ur pal was blogging ?
- You thought it would be a great idea to have a blogsite ?
- You want to share your pics, stories, ideas and happenings in life ?

For me the reason was quite simple - all my friends were blogging and the peer pressure was too much to bear so I started blogging. All of the above reasons apply to me. I am a pathetic reader and a worse writer, I think a lot but its all unstructured. Ok !! I am not delving further. Back to the point - the article on wired.com

Why did an exile start blogging ?
- To expose the government oppression.
- For a political and social cause.

I do not wish to make any political statement here - please refer http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,72319-0.html?tw=wn_index_1

So this whole article struck a fire in my beer belly.

Lone Star to Garden State

After a long wait I finally moved out of Houston ( bad move :( ).
My current co-ordinates are 40.3132/-74.5206. The name Garden State is more implied than Lone Star. AFAIK...a single star in texas flag doesn't mean we call it 'Lone Star', well but garden state is truly garden (until the extreme winter).
New place, new sleeping bag, new roomie, new challenges, new frustration, new false hope..there is plenty.

Intertia - The tendency of an object at rest to remain at rest, and of an object in motion to remain in motion.

It's so hard to move and you get to hear you are single you are bachelor go ahead explore the world..alas !..I find the same roads, the same STOP sign, the same stores..this country is a big shopping mall and a parking lot !!

First day of new project tomorrow...when was the last time I got excited ;)

Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

Day after yesterday

Had a real quiet BDay this time, not many friends around to give me bumps :) ..Orkut helps u a lot if its your day !
Finally I did go to the "Swaminarayan Temple" at Sugarland ( about 15 miles from my place). My third visit in 8 months.
Few facts -

Total land area: 22 acres
No iron or steel used in construction
Mandir area: 25 k sq ft.

The Mandir opened on July 25, 2004.
We reached around 1 in the afternoon , hot and humid Houston weather was taking its toll on us. We removed our footwear before entering. I was wearing shorts so was asked to put a "wrap-around" dhoti..felt like I was attending a ceremony. Lunch @ Desi restaurant and home by 3.

Stingray kills 'Crocodile Hunter'

Steve Irwin.
Many recognize him by face rather than name. Animal Planet, Discovery - you can't miss him
He was fliming for his daughter's show when stabbed by stingray.

I remember the show "The Ten Deadliest Snakes in the World".
Each time daredevil Steve came close to snake, my heart would throb at the very thought of actual film shooting.

This post is a tribute to the "Crocodile Hunter"

I hate you stingray !!!

The First on 25th

Welcome Rishi !.. welcome to blogging.
3rd , September 2006 happens to be my 25th Birthday - an auspicious day to start blogging..something i've been dilly dallying for sometime.
A lazy Sunday morning made lazier by the fact that its a Labor day weekend and none of my friends are around.
Been getting calls from my near, dear and feared ones ..for some reason the Bday does make u feel special.
Plan to go to a temple sometime in the evening. craving for the lost peace.

Lage Raho Munna Bhai ..

Meets the expectation of a good sequel.
Very few sequels have been successful, this will probably rate among the top."Chemical locha" is what the movie is about and quite so, a lot of the so called feelings of love, hatred, boredom we have are after all our hormomes (chemicals).
Everyone has heard or read about Gandhian philosphy - truth, non-violence atleast on 2nd October.
Historic facts make these principles a little hard to digest. The movie mixes Gandhian philosophy with taporigiri and a few romantic moments to deliver a hit.
